The central government has once again issued a strong warning to Pakistani citizens in India . It has made it clear that if they do not leave the country within the stipulated time, they will be sent directly to jail. According to the Immigration & Foreigners Act 2025, which came into effect from April 4, if they remain in India even after the expiry of the time limit, Pakistani citizens can be sentenced to three years in prison or a fine of Rs 3 lakh, or both, the center said.

Clear guidelines on deadlines
As per the Indian government's directive, Pakistani citizens should respect the visa deadline and leave the country. The validity of regular tourist, business, religious and family visit visas has already expired. However, some relaxation has been given to Pakistani citizens who are currently on medical visas. All of them have been ordered to leave India by April 29. Official sources have made it clear that strict action will be taken even if this deadline is violated.
Center takes strict measures with security in mind
The central government has taken this decision keeping in mind the security of the country. Officials say that the government must impose strict restrictions as foreign nationals who have overstayed their visas with illegal visas pose a security threat. It is reported that surveillance has already been increased on Pakistani citizens in several cases. In order to comprehensively protect India's security, action will continue to be taken against those who violate visa regulations without any tolerance.
