The impact of the Delhi results is not here: Sanjay Raut

Sanjay Raut, a senior leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), clarified that the impact of the Delhi Assembly election results would not affect the opposition alliance in the country. He stated that the INDIA alliance would remain intact, and that AAP and Congress should have contested together in the Delhi Assembly elections. Speaking about the Delhi Assembly election results, Raut said, "There is the INDIA alliance, and it will remain intact in the future as well. It's unfortunate that Congress is happy about AAP's defeat in Delhi. Both AAP and Congress should have sat together and discussed seat-sharing, but both contested separately and lost. They should have contested as a coalition. Had AAP and Congress contested as a coalition, the Delhi election results would have been different."

Raut also mentioned that BJP wants the opposition to fight among themselves. "We cannot defeat autocracy unless we fight among ourselves," said the Rajya Sabha MP.

In the Delhi Assembly elections, both AAP and Congress, which are part of the opposition's nationwide INDIA alliance, contested separately and faced defeat. The ruling AAP managed only 22 seats, a significant decline from its previous count of 62, and was ousted from power. Despite the loss, AAP Chief and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal faced defeat, and Congress failed to win even a single seat.

In the 70-seat Delhi Assembly, BJP won 48 seats and regained power in the national capital after 27 years. Recently, senior social activist Anna Hazare, who had kept silent about corruption allegations against Narendra Modi's government at the center, was criticized by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Raut. "Hazare is happy about Kejriwal's defeat. Why was he silent when corruption took place during Modi's rule? Wealth is being centralized in the hands of a single industrialist, and the country is being plundered. What is the secret behind Hazare's silence at such times?" Raut questioned.

After the Delhi election results, Hazare mentioned that Kejriwal did not heed his advice and "focused only on alcohol," referring to the scrapped excise policy brought by the outgoing AAP government. Hazare also stated that Kejriwal was overwhelmed by wealth.
