Prisoners from different countries languishing in Dubai's prisons
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 1,295 prisoners in prisons in the country on the occasion of Ramadan . Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has also decided to pardon 1,518 prisoners. Attorney General and Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan announced that the latest amnesty will apply to prisoners from various countries languishing in Dubai's prisons.
Amnesty for prisoners is a tradition in the UAE
It is a tradition in the UAE to grant amnesty and release prisoners during the month of Ramadan. However, prisoners are selected and released based on good behavior. They will also be provided with financial assistance to integrate into the mainstream of society. Meanwhile, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh recently told the Rajya Sabha that there are 25 Indians sentenced to death in the UAE, and the court verdicts against them have not yet been executed.
